A model of the site allowing me to see where the sound would travel and if it would bounce of the tall buildings. This helped me with the locating of the building. The final positions for the various buildings were the main structure was built into the hillside to project the sound in one direction but also to shelter music creation from external influences, such as the recording studios in the hillside. The main Students Union was placed in the cetnre of the site with the accomodation blocks providing a buffer between the M4 and the site. It was proposed that the kitchen and other non-sleeping rooms would face the M4 whilst the sleeping rooms would be on the site side.
