Istanbul's mythlogical beginnings were from the coast and this regeneration scheme aimed to bring people back to the coast of the city of Istanbul. The borderlands along the edge of the city around the coast were innaccessible due to the city wall, then more modern installations of the railway and ring road. The railway breached the old city wall allowing glimpses of the city to escape forming structures that allowed access back to the coast. These glimpses were viewed through the lens of the iconic book Murder on the Orient Express.
